Panthers Training Camp 2012 at Spartanburg's Wofford College

12,000 fans attended Day 1 of camp. Day 2 was held at 6 p.m. and turned out to be a pleasant and (reasonably) cool evening. There is no charge for admission. Souvenir and concession stands are set up outside the practice viewing area, along with a play area for kids. Free parking is easy in lots next to Gibbs Stadium or across Cumming Street. Coolers are a NO-NO in the viewing area.

Practice follows a strictly scripted schedule so that no time is wasted. Two electronic boards count down practice time for each activity as well as provide a 40 second clock for timing plays. A horn signals activity change. Offensive players wear white jerseys and the defense wears blue. Red, blue, or yellow cloth caps identify players in special drills. Quarterbacks wear red jerseys to insure that they are NOT hit by defenders. Wofford has three adjoining practice fields, which permits multiple drills to be conducted simultaneously.

Best time for obtaining autographs is at the conclusion of practice (which lasts approximately three hours). Bring spare batteries for your camera.
